Job Title:Senior Engineer, New Production Introduction EngineeringJob Description:The Role: We are currently seeking an experienced and versatile New Product Introduction Engineer to join our team. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to drive successful qualifications and startup of products, and ensure readiness for mass production at our Yonezawa Site. The products would either be transferred from other existing facilities, or new products utilizing a Stage Gate Process from Development to Manufacturing stage. You will use your skills/experience to influence product design teams to improve design for manufacturability, while ensuring the highest levels of quality. Achieving this goal will require the use of collaboration, influence, and individual skills to interface with all functions across the organization. The NPI Engineer will work closely with the Process Engineering team, Production cell team and other functional teams to ensure Manufacturing Readiness of the new product portfolio. You will engage with the Process engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Production Supervisors, Operators, and any other necessary personnel to drive the successful product qualification and transition to mass production. With the fast pace of innovations in semiconductors, you will be expected to manage multiple projects across the product portfolio. We expect that you’ll collaborate, share and be ready to learn in a team that partners closely with its customers. In this role you will: Lead or serve as one of core team members for assigned new product development projects as the liaison between Development Engineering and Operations, pulling products to market. Lead product transfer working with multiple teams/sites to ensure product performance is equal to POR. Develop Manufacturing Plans for assigned projects. Topics include selection of manufacturing site, raw and finished goods material planning, chemical/waste plan, ramp/capacity planning, cost roadmap, etc. Also work closely with Development Engineering to proactively influence product and process design for better manufacturability. Manage customer sample production, working with Operations team and Development team to provide special instructions as required. Lead planning and executing product qualification based on risk assessment from DFMEA and PFMEA Become familiar with equipment for mass production, ensure production line is capable of producing the products at manufacturing level. Monitor the production at pilot phase, leading to resolve the issues to ensure a smooth transition to high volume manufacturing phase. Prepare Process Documentation to support Product Launch. Drive Improvement Projects (yield, process capability, etc.) to maximize Gross Margin and Predictability as part of Operation team. Traits we believe make a strong candidate: Being a great teammate. Excellent documentation, communication, and technical writing skills and good data literacy. Ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities at once to accomplish Division goals. Experience leading Lean/Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement Manufacturing projects and implementation. Experiences and skills in statistical analysis Capability or experience in using English language in professional occasions. Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred. Must have 5+ years related experience. Clear awareness of safety and quality topics, familiar with related ISO regulations. Your success will be measured by: Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of the development process. Constantly working to ensure no surprises. Actively Pulling products into manufacturing, while ensuring project commitment dates are always met. Creating data driven Manufacturing Plans to ensure long term portfolio success. Feedback from your teammates and pillars across the company on your ability to effectively collaborate and add value.
